Michael G. Absatz, M.D.
PHYSICIAN LEADERSHIP AWARD

Michael G. Absatz, M.D., FAAOS, FACS, is the Academic Program Director for the Monmouth Medical Center Orthopaedic Residency Program and the Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine. He is also a member of the Monmouth Medical Center medical staff. Dr. Absatz completed his
fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, California after completing his orthopaedic residency at New York University-Bellevue Medical Center in New York. He earned his Medical Degree at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University in New York, and his undergraduate engineering degree from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. His other accomplishments include
painting in acrylic and watercolor. His work has been exhibited in Chicago and San Francisco and his medical illustrations appear in numerous surgical journals. Dr. Absatz and his wife Lisa have two adult children, Jessica and Aaron.

George Laufenberg
COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD
George R. Laufenberg is the Administrative Manager of the New Jersey Carpenters Funds headquartered in Edison, New Jersey.
Mr. Laufenberg serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Monmouth Medical Center and the Monmouth Medical Center
Foundation. He is also chairman of the New Jersey Alliance for Action, co-chair of the Health Care Payers Coalition of New Jersey,
a member of Carpenters Local Union #623 in Atlantic City, a member of the Independent College Fund of New Jersey Board of Trustees,
and was recently elected Secretary of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. Mr. Laufenberg is a graduate of Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Pamela, reside in Allenwood, New Jersey and have four children – Karl,
Katelyn, Jenna and George Ryan.
